This June Fatima put an end to 7 years of activity. The band leader, Kanoma, told us about the past activities and his future plans. Considering himself an "entertainer," he is the person who acts interpreting adequately the things he is pursuing. From here on out people who believed in him are sure not to be disappointed by him...
- Fatima disbanded at the end of June. What kind of a band was it for you, Kanoma-san?
It was the band which did the things it liked. As for Fatima, it hasn't become a band with a definite music style. Thatfs why it gives you any kind of impression. Among our fans too there are no people who think "Fatima is not this or that," therefore whatever we did there were many people who responded to it.
- It was 8 years of activity since the formation in 1998, right?
Indeed. To tell the truth, unexpectedly long! (laughs). However, there was a yearfs hiatus as well as member changes on the way.
- So for the band it was a road full of ups and downs?
Maybe. Besides, in such a long period of time we havenft even released a full album. If you look at the discography, you can see quite a list of releases, but since they're mostly second presses and live-only CDs, the number [of actual releases] is surprisingly small.
- And what can you say about the disbandment?
It happened because one of the band composers said: "I think I want to do the things I am pursuing in some other scene." As for me, up until now I was able to do the things I liked. In this case it would be better if other members could also do the things they liked.
- Kanoma-san, in what way are you planning to move hereafter?
I haven't decided upon it yet (wry smile). I just think that therefs still something I can do in this scene. Dwelling upon the sphere of entertainment I am insatiably leaning towards the things that are considered to be entertaining. If I can enjoy myself while making money then I'm up to anything. In that case among various things I did, most of all I am into being on stage. Because I think that for me standing in front of the people who need me is the best entertainment ever.
- Do you want to stay in the same scene as before?
If there are people [he uses a word which that refers to girls] who empathize with my lyrics and poems as well as find support in them, then I would like to create kind of a native place for them. I don't care about becoming super-famous, nor do I want to earn my living being in a band all along ? not at all. Oh by the way, on the New Yearfs night I did "Lolita-hatsumoude" [hatsumoude ? first visit of the year to a shrine]!
- ?
I think that in today's visual kei scene it is somewhat difficult to come to lives for those who do cosplay or dress as Lolitas. Although this is exactly the place where you can express yourself and stuff like that, still this kind of tendency exists. And so, since I like Lolitas, at the end of the year I planned the "Lolita-hatsumoude" event. Those who came there dressed as Lolitas had a privilege.
- So you want to provide some place everybody is in need of?
I for one do like the people who need me (laughs). Although my band activities are stopped for the time being, I am going to be active and to continue with such events as, for example, talk lives. It won't be anything close to the talks we had at handshake events, but an event with some concept.
- Even though Fatima disbanded, you, Kanoma-san, are moving on actively. Your fans are sure to be happy, right?
That's right! Because I do love my fans (laughs). Since I don't like to leave things up in the air, in case I decide to stop my activities, I will put it clearly: yameru! [I quit]. Otherwise I'll make sure to continue and present something to all of you.

I really appreciate all the things Fatima did. Things that only I can do, Unusual, exciting things? I do support this kind of standpoint expressed by Kanoma-kun. Although we've known each other for quite a long time, I like it that his position doesn't change even now. I can't wait to play together on stage again! Anyway, do come back soon!
